Finger Pinching Maneuver
     
 

Six meridians begin their energetic journey on the tips of the fingers. The Finger Pinching Maneuver will provide a wonderful stimulus to these energy flow lines.

 
     
Procedure:
 

Take your right hand and systematically squeeze the left thumb and then each finger for about fifteen seconds. Begin by squeezing the area from top to bottom or on the nail and bottom of the finger. Then, squeeze that same finger from side to side for fifteen seconds. You might notice that different fingers are comfortable with varying amounts of pressure. So, adjust your pinching action accordingly. When each finger is complete on the left hand, complete the same procedure for the right hand.

There is a Japanese technique called Akabani that uses an incense like material called moxa to test the status of each meridian by how much heat each beginning meridian point is comfortable with. Each meridian is checked and then this information is utilized in preparing an individualized treatment approach.

 
     
  For our purposes, we will only be applying pressure. In another unit, we will be focusing attention on this meridian and will be doing specific techniques to awaken each meridian.
